Tuesday 21st December, 2010
On Christmas Day, it appears that I will be singing Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor.
Other than that, there are some exciting new developments planned for next year - I will be featured in Kurt Weill's Die sieben Todsünden, which will be performed as part of a symphonic concert with orchestra of Theater Augsburg in February.
Details under performances as usual.
Monday 22nd November, 2010
New performances have been scheduled of Madama Butterfly (Sunday 9th January 2011 at 7pm) and Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (Friday 11th February 2011 at 7:30pm). The details can also be found in the performances section as usual.
Sunday 7 October, 2010
The first performance of Aida takes place at Stadttheater Augsburg at 7:00pm tonight. I will play be playing Un Messaggero (the messenger).
Thursday 21 October, 2010
Dates for my performances of Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny are up on the performances page. Due to the illness of the regular Arturo, I will also be singing the role of Arturo tomorrow night in Lucia di Lammermoor for those interested.
Friday 17 September, 2010
A guestbook and a contact page has been added to this website, so now you can write me messages and contact me!
Also, I have been asked to perform something at the gala opening next Saturday in the theatre. The details are not finalised, but I will probably be performing in the stage show something from the upcoming season. Check the performances section later in the week.
Sunday 12 September, 2010
Major updates of the website took place this weekend, though chances are you will scarcely notice the difference. The biggest difference is that
performance dates of my first three operas for Theater Augsburg are up on the performance page.
I have also updated the experience page to list all the operatic roles in my repertoire (frighteningly, I'm up to 25 opera and operetta roles and 5 musicals)
as well as oratorio.
I'm planning several more additions as I think of them - hopefully it won't be so much work next time!
Wednesday 7 July, 2010
I have officially signed a 2-year full-time contract as a soloist with Theater Augsburg and will begin rehearsing on 15 September, 2010. At the moment, I have been asked to perform eight different roles in seven different operas, the first being Arturo and Normanno in a revival of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. More roles will go up under the gig guide when I have another moment.
I am unfortunately only doing one concert in Australia at the moment, which is my Welcome Back to Australia concert which also features Dr David Kram's reduction of Wagner's Ring cycle into one hour. However, since this is a champagne, canapé evening, bookings are essential before 12 July. Details also on the gig guide.
It is shaping up to be another fortunate and exciting year of music for me!

I've been really slack with this, but I finally have some photos up from the 2009/2010 season at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. You can check them out in the photos section. More news coming soon!

Good news: Last week I was cast in Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden's production of Die Fledermaus. The revival opens on 24 March and will only have three performances in this season. Details in my gig guide.
Sunday 17th January, 2010
I made a mistake below - the live broadcast of Falstaff will take place at 17:30 Uhr (5:30pm German time or 3:30am Australian time). The performance starts at 6pm (or 4am Australian time). Hope you have the energy to tune in :). Corrections have been made on the previous news entry.

TV Documentary on Falstaff
There was a special documentary made today at rehearsal on Christian Spuck, the director of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden's production of Falstaff.
A TV crew from Schweizer Fernsehen (Swiss TV) came in to film a bit of Falstaff and also interviewed Christian as well (a well-known ballet director). Apparently the documentary will be shown on the following channels:
Schweizer Fernsehen (Click here to go to SF1 live broadcast)
SF1, Sendung Kulturplatz
Wednesday 13.1.2010 at 22:50 (10:50pm)
Repeat on 3sat (Saturday, 16.1.2010, at 9:05am)
Note: You need to install Zattoo player to watch it. Also it appears that you may need to be in Switzerland to have permission to view it too. I haven't been able to access that channel.
SWR-Fernsehen
Sendung Nachtkultur
Friday, 15.1.2010, at 23:30 (11:30pm)
Obviously that will be in swiss time. SWR-Fernsehen appears to be in Baden-Baden region of Germany, so I don't know whether that can be picked up from Wiesbaden or not. They don't appear to have a live-web stream. Still hopefully you can see it through Swiss Television.
Falstaff premiere will be broadcast live on radio
Also, the opening night for Falstaff, which is on Sunday 24 January, 2010 at 6pm, can be heard live on hr2-kultur radio station. This radio station can be heard live, world-wide, via the internet. The broadcast will begin at 5:30pm German time (or Monday 23 January 2010 at 3:30am Melbourne time), presumably the first 30 minutes will be spent introducing the opera and the performers.
Click here to access live radio broadcast of hr2-kultur through the Internet.
See here for inaccurate information (cast list in particular) about the program.

Happy new year everyone! Hope its been good for you so far. I have put most of the performances I know about into the gig guide, but its only 100% accurate up to the end of February since the Hessisches Staatstheater have not really released the final perfromance schedules. and they generally like to swap things around. One of my resolutions is to make this website a little bit more dynamic... lets see when I get that done.
