Big news, but old news - ten days ago I won the 2009 More than Opera German Australian Operatic Grant (see http://www.mto-gaog.com)!!
This means that will be travelling to Germany to take up a one year contract with Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in June 2009. Of course, this website will be kept updated with any news that happens over there when I get the time. I am also doing another Messiah
in Port Fairy after Christmas. Details on the gig guide as always.

I have been asked to perform in the Young Performers at RMIT
opera gala this Friday (at RMIT obviously). It is a free concert so pop in if you have time at lunchtime. For a map and more details, see the gig guide.

I have been asked to take place in the twilight concert as part of the Melba Conservatorium of Music's farewell celebrations. Sadly, this institution will be closing after the semester this year. News! I have been selected as a semi-finalist in the German Australian Operatic Grant. The
winner of this is sponsored to work for the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden as a principal artist. Fingers crossed!
I am doing a round of Messiahs, a concert of Trial by Jury and will be joining the chorus of Opera Australia for their production
of Otello in November after I finish touring Cinderella with OzOpera Schools company..
Details of the above performances will appear on the gig guide when they become available.

I have been selected as a finalist in the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic aria from oratorio competition. This will be taking place
this Saturday 9th August at the BMW Edge, Federation square. Details on the gig guide as they become available.

Have been offered a role in a semi-staged IOpera production of Russian composer Fleishman's only opera, Rothschild's Violin.
Rothschild was Shostakovich's favourite student and was unfortunately killed in the second world war before he could complete the
opera. Shostakovich completed the orchestral arrangement of this 30 minute chamber opera. The performance will take place as part of
the Port Fairy Spring festival.
I am continuing to tour in OzOpera's production of Cinderella to enthusiastic children around Victoria.

Its been a busy month - have performed Anna Amalia's Erwin and Elmira and Victorian Opera's Puccini Concert in February
and rehearsed for the OzOpera schools tour since then. Coming up is a performance of Handel's Messiah with the Monash University
Choral Society.
Sadly, last week I heard that Lyric Opera have cancelled the productions of Dido and Aeneas and La Fille du Regiment (in which I
was going to play Tonio).
