Just completed the grueling German-Australian Operatic Grant. I have finished with third place - the concert took place at BMW Edge at 3pm this afternoon after a drama workshop, interview and semi-final the day before. This is the last concert until next year and there are already some exciting developments. I've been offered Don Ramiro with OzOpera's schools touring production of La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and another role in the world premiere of Anna Amalia's Erwin and Elmira.

Going to be another exciting year!

Sunday 25th November, 2007

This month I made the semi-finals of the Herald-Sun aria from grand opera and the semi-finals of the German Australian Opera Grant (which will take place on December 14th). Hopefully I will perform really well and make the finals of this one.

In late November I will be performing as part of Opera in the Bowl at Federation Square with OzOpera's schools production of The Barber of Seville and on December 3rd I will perform in recital for the British Music Society - more details will appear on my gig guide when they become available.

I am about to start touring heavily for Barber of Seville and am preparing for the upcoming oratorios and the big singing competitions in Melbourne. You will be able to catch me in a couple of weeks performing in Orff's Carmina Burana and in concert with the Monash Chorale. Details on the gig guide.

Cannot believe it is already half-way through the year! In latest news I made the final of the inaugral Royal Philharmonic Aria competition and have just been offered another role with the Lyric Opera of Melbourne, this time the role of Prince Ramiro in Rossini's La Cenerentola (or Cinderella if you speak English).

Friday 11th May, 2007

Currently touring Rossini's The Barber of Seville with OzOpera. Not much else on except that I will be doing a concert of Russian Art Songs for the Lieder Society of Victoria. Details on the gig guide.

Updated news: ticket prices for The Gondoliers are now up in the gig guide.
It is now official that I will be singing the St John's Passion on Good Friday with theScots Church Choir and Australian Baroque Orchestra. Once again it is free!

Also I have been asked by the Lieder Society of Victoria to sing in a Russian Song concert, which will be new for me as I have never sung Russian art songs before. Details of this will be available on Saturday. I will also be singing in their National Liederfest competition in late April.

Happy new year everyone! A little bit late, I know, but better late than never.

Its been a quiet start to the year - but now the concert season is upon me. I have just done a performance at the Melba Conservatorium graduate showcase (as I am about to graduate) and coming up is a concert performance of Sullivan's The Gondoliers (singing Marco - prices now updated in the gig guide), a big recital for the music lovers featuring Benjamin Britten's Winter Words and the usual easter oratorios (to which I am still awaiting confirmation).

I will also be entering the liederfest and some of the other big singing competitions later in the year in between performances of The Barber of Seville. Stay tuned!
